25 weeks down....15 to go!

On Tuesday, we went to find out how our little guy is doing at our 24-week check-up and find out the results from the ultrasound. It turns out everything is “normal” and we have nothing to worry about. I know that no news is good news, but I am a details person – I like to know exactly how big he is, how much he weighs, if he needs more nutrients, etc., but when the doctor says everything looks good - what else are you supposed to ask?

We went in knowing we were going to ask if we could “see” him. Normally in these check-ups, they just check the heartbeat and measure the belly. My wonderful husband, who comes to all the appointments with me, asked if we could do an ultrasound. The doc said today was a good day because he was on schedule, and that would be no problem. He put the camera on my belly, and there he was, little guy just kicking away. It is so cool to see how much he has progressed – you can see all his bones, facial features, and he is definitely getting bigger because his whole body no longer fits on the screen. Not to go into the wonders of nature – but it really is incredible.

The name game is still going on – who knew it was so hard to name someone? We like a name one day, and that changes 24 hours later - it looks like we won’t know what it is until we see him. His crib comes today (thanks Mom and Dad), so we will start putting together the nursery. Fortunately, the room is already painted blue, so put a check next to painting! Now it is just figuring out a theme…..

So here is a picture of me and my “belly” (and of course Ruby wants to be in the picture) – still don’t feel like others would know I am pregnant from looking at me, but I am grateful for not blowing up like a whale (yet). The little guy is kicking like crazy, but I love it - just makes me know he is in there!
